00/00/0000 Riders Notes Richfields 2010 incorporating the NZ One Day Eventing Championships
Welcome to all the competitors for the 2010 Richfields International Horse Trial incorporating the New Zealand One Day Eventing Championships.
The organising committee aim to run a well organised, rider friendly event that is enjoyable for everyone. Please find below some useful information for you with respect to the event. The information provided below should assist us all in having a great event. As stated in the programme the organising committee for the event would like to continue refresh Richfields for 2010 and future years. Any ideas on how we can create a memorable event for everyone would be greatly appreciated.
You should be aware of the following:
Truck Park
Water in the truck park - the water from the green plastic header tank is suitable for human consumption and there is a tap at the tank. Please ensure that the tap is turned off after use. The shower facility is fed from the same source.
Water will be provided in large troughs inside the yard compound for you to bucket water from for the horse yards. In the interests of animal health please ensure that your horse does not drink directly from the trough.
The concrete water trough at the Western side of the truck park is fed from an open well, is suitable for horses, and can be used for whatever purpose you want.
The water supply is limited and we ask you don't waste it.
Motor Vehicles
During the event motor vehicles can be used to travel from the truck park to the competition areas and vice versa provided that you travel around the road and park in the designated parking area.
ID Tags, Passports and ID Books
Passports and ID books will be available for collection at the end of the event from the stewards after the showjumping. Remember that it is the rider's responsibility to ensure that their Passport books are collected.
Riders are required to provide their own ID tags for their horses for the event. FEI class horses (i.e one star, two star and three star are required to have a numbered tag on at all times that is the same as their back number.
If is recommended that Pre-Novice horses also have an ID tag on that is the same as there back number at all times but this is not compulsory.
Riders are also required to provide their own dressage and showjumping bridle numbers if they wish to use these.
Compulsory Riders Meeting
A reminder that the riders meeting at 7 pm in the Quarantine Barn is compulsory for riders to attend as the issues to be discussed at this meeting are very important.
Riders functions
This year the rider's function starts at 6 pm in the main marque tent in the main arena with a shuttle running. The yellow ticket will get you a meal so remember to bring your ticket. Food at the riders function is available from 7 pm, music starts at 8 pm.
Drink tickets are being pre-sold at the event. Please see Karen Cave to purchase these.
Sponsors
We could not run this event without the kind and generous support of our wonderful sponsors. In this pack you will find information from some of our sponsors about their products and services. Please take
the time to read this material and where possible, support our sponsors by using their services or purchasing products from them.
Any feedback from riders to our sponsors would be greatly appreciated by the organising committee and the sponsors alike. All riders are encouraged to send a thank you letter to the sponsors and can email Allison at lozell@farmsideco.nz who will provide you with the name and address of a sponsor for you to send your thank you letter to.
All prizewinners in particular are encouraged to contact Allison to arrange for sending a letter to a sponsor.
Rider Feedback
