How to get there
From Auckland – State Highway 1
- Take Island Block Road (left) at Meremere (by the old power station)
- Proceed to T junction – Falls Road – Turn Right
- Proceed to T junction with main Te Kauwhata Road – Turn left
- Take first Road on Right – Taniwha Road by the Mobile service Garage. You will see the Richfields Sign on the grounds opposite the Garage
- Follow signs for parking on the grounds at entry into 1222 Taniwha Road (and original entry to the Alton Lodge Homestead)
- Please follow the instructions of the parking attendant
From Te Kauwhata – State Highway 1
- Take Te Kauwhata exit from SH1
- Continue through town centre following State Highway signs for SH2
- Proceed for about 8 km
- Turn Right into Taniwha Road by the Mobile service Garage. You will see the Richfields Sign on the grounds opposite the Garage
- Follow signs for parking on the grounds at entry into 1222 Taniwha Road (and original entry to the Alton Lodge Homestead)
- Please follow the instructions of the parking attendant
From Hamilton – State Highway 1
- Take Ohiniwai exit from SH1
- Take left turn to Waiterimu
- Take Left turn to Matahuru past the hall
- Take right turn into Taniwha Road heading toward Wairanga
- After sharp right hand bend turn left at the next junction to stay on Taniwha Road
- Continue along Taniwha Road, past Waeranga School and the Alton Lodge Stables complex on your right hand side. After a sharp right hand bend, before you get to the Te Kauwhata State Highway 2 main road, the entrance to the event is on your right hand side. 1222 Taniwha Road (and original entry to the Alton Lodge Homestead)
From – Ngatea – State Highway 2
- From SH 2 take the first road on the left after the junction with SH 25 heading towards Te Kauwhata
- Through Kaeria
- Turn right at next Junction to Te Kauwhata
- Proceed to Waeranga
- Turn Left into Taniwha Road by the Mobile service Garage. You will see the Richfields Sign on the grounds opposite the Garage
- Follow signs for parking on the grounds at entry into 1222 Taniwha Road (and original entry to the Alton Lodge Homestead)– Please follow the instructions of the parking attendant
